Migraine is a highly disabling pain condition that influences the daily activities of those affected, including children and adolescents. The diagnosis and management of migraine can be challenging in children and adolescents. The description of migraine in this population may include symptoms that are not typically described in adults. Treatment options for pediatric migraine are increasing, however remain limited.
This review will go through briefly the key components to diagnosing migraine in pediatric patients and mainly give options for acute and preventive management.
